Ground a weave in current sources with web search

Intermediate4 min

Turn on web search when the answer depends on today’s facts: prices, product pages, news, docs, or anything else that can go stale.

Before you start

Estimated time: 4 min

  • A Pro, Pro+, or Team plan. Web search is a paid feature.

Enable web search on the weave

1 min

On a paid plan, turn on web search before you run the weave. If you are on the free plan, leave it off or upgrade first.

Write a specific, searchable prompt

2 min

Ask for the thing you would search for yourself. Include product names, dates, locations, or domains when they matter. Vague prompts usually bring back vague source material.

Run and check the grounding

2 to 5 min

Run the weave and review how the answer uses the retrieved sources. For comparisons or research, this is the difference between a current answer and a stale one.

Keep going
